Friends of Parkway Forest Park is an all ages multicultural group of residents and artists who organize artistic, environmental and leadership building events in public spaces. Our group formed in 2016 and grew from one to now 16 core members. Our mission is to build a sustainable community that celebrates our unique cultures and encourages newcomers, refugees and immigrants to lead local initiatives. Aside from yearly events such as park cleanups and pumpkin parades, we work with local non-profits and residents to co-create programs that engage participants in self expression. Our programs always intertwine art, science and collaboration into a blend of activities that improve mental health and reduce social isolation.
