Founded in 2018, Sweet Grass Roots Collective works to re-indigenize urban spaces through earthwork, art, media and storytelling. Joce Tremblay, Jennifer LaFontaine and Emmanuelle Pantin each bring a particular background in arts, land-based education, earth-work and community organizing to create a unique and innovative method of community arts to this project. The collective has been working towards ap roject that would allow them to work together to bring their vision of Indigenous place-making and sharing Indigenous knowledge to life. We are excited about the possibility of collaborating with Black Creek Community Farm to bring Indigenous knowledge, culture, agricultural practices and stories and songs back to the Black Creek.
