Banig, Pai, Mafrash

Toronto Ward Museum will present Banig, Pai, Mafrash, a series of community-engaged arts events celebrating cross-cultural picnic traditions in Agincourt, Scarborough. Over 5 Tuesdays in July 2022, local artists will lead free workshops exploring participants’ picnic memories and traditions through spoken word and poetry, abstract painting, weaving and movement/dance. Artistic outcomes from the workshops will be installed and performed at a final celebratory event- a park party that will also include music, food and live memory-sharing. All events are free and open to all ages, and will take place in Milliken Park. Facilitation will be available in Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil, Tagalog and Arabic.
