Heart Berry: Strengthening Our Connections
July 8 @ 11:00 am - 4:30 pm

We invite the community to share an afternoon of reflection and traditional craft based on the teachings of the strawberry.
The strawberry is known as the ‘heart berry’ to many Indigenous nations, with June being the time when this medicine makes itself known. Its arrival signals a time for communal gathering, celebration, initiation and acknowledging creation.
In this session, participants will create small beaded strawberry pins in honour of the strawberry season. Lead artist and Oshkabewis (ceremonial helper) Mushkiiki Nibi, Lindsey Lickers, will share teachings on how we can strengthen our relationships with ourselves, with the land, and to creation.
