The community surrounding Neilson Park will be invited to explore the park and its nearby habitats with fresh eyes. Through art workshops, storytelling and nature walks, participants will gain a sense of place. The natural environment will provide artistic materials for this project. Found materials will be used to construct ephemeral installations along the Neilson Park paved trail. These installations will echo the existing, human-made pathways we take today, which merge with the trajectories taken by insects/birds, animal-dug tunnels, all intersected by Indigenous Peoples’ paths.
This project is in collaboration with artist Alexandra Iorgu.
