Community Arts Guild presents a series of participatory visual arts, storytelling, movement and music activities offered in July that can be enjoyed from home with a few activities at Fred Johnson Park where possible. Plant Love investigates and celebrates plants grown in the Scarborough Village Community Garden. Exchange plant knowledge and stories through art-making, and contribute to creations for the annual Scarborough Village Harvest Festival on September 19, 2020 in Fred Johnson Park.
Visual arts activities will be offered as printable templates to be filled in at home, with limited mail-out art kits available to local residents and garden volunteers. We will also offer several arts workshops via phone and video conference. Material gathered through these activities will become part of artwork for the Harvest Festival, including textile banners, puppets, music and more.
