The Ward’s Island Fire Parade is an annual celebration of light and community situated in the beautiful Toronto Island Park. Shadowland artists and community members join to create a spectacular pre-dusk performance with puppets, stilt-walkers and live music. As dark falls a lantern-lit parade will wind through the small streets leading to a shadow puppet show finale. Lantern-making, puppet creation and performance workshops will take place from July 30 to August 4 at the Ward’s Island clubhouse, close to the Ward’s Island ferry dock. Shadowland and a special guest artist will run lantern workshops on July 29 and 30. A fee will be charged to cover materials costs.
