Wigwam Chi-Chemung: Eagle Drum Girl

August 5 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

This family friendly event is inspired by the teachings of Elder Dr. Duke Redbird. Young People’s Theatre will perform a reading of Elder Redbird’s play, Eagle Drum Girl, which will feature Elder Redbird himself!

The synopsis of this hilarious and heartwarming intergenerational play is as follows:

“Dan Eagle’s son and daughter-in-law want him to move into seniors’ residence instead of trying to fix the dilapidated shack he calls home. But Old Dan and his granddaughter, Cheyenne have other ideas…”

This event will also include a fancy dance performance by Classic Roots, drumming by Thunder Jack, and a talk by Elder Redbird about every day words we use that are actually Ojibwe.
