AWA Arts in the Parks

Join African Women Acting as they host djembe drumming circles and Maori Haka dance workshops open to youths, adults and seniors.
Djembe Drumming Circle:  learn the basic knowledge of drumming djembe. Participants will be introduced to a variety of drumming styles that are taught through a very friendly, simple, and engaging manner.
The Maori Haka -The Breath of Fire; The Haka is about strength, respect, honor, discipline, focus, emotions and control. You will learn the practices, movements, basic pronunciations of words and translations and their connection to the Haka.
The dates for the AWA Drumming Circle and Maori Dance in Raymore Park is as follow June 22nd 11am – 2.30pm June 29th 11am – 2.30pm July 6th 11am – 2.30pm July 13th 11am – 1.00pm
